Subject: 2011 Spring Trip
Greetings trip participants. We know that we have bombarded you with many forms and paperwork, but we have one more document that needs to be addressed.
Regretfully our request for field trip approval of and by the Wake County Board of Education for out of the country travel was not formally presented and approved prior to our proposed departure to Canada. This information was recently brought to our attention. Since we have invested so much time, effort and money into this trip, we do not want to cancel the Canadian Portion of our travel. To allow us to travel to Canada as a group, Mr. Scott and Mrs. Shuler, along with our contracted travel company and bus line are assuming the responsibility of traveling to Canada as a non-Wake County School Sponsored Trip.
What are the differences, you may ask. None except the fact that we cannot perform in Canada as the Southeast Raleigh High School Band and Chorus. We will perform as the Southeast Raleigh Community Band and Chorus, from Raleigh, North Carolina. We are still covered by the insurance of our travel company, we are still covered by the insurance of our bus company and we are still have the same level of expectations that are expected by Mr. Scott, Mrs. Shuler and our entire Band and Chorus Families.
Thank you for completing the enclosed form for our records and we look forward to taking this wonderful trip. This is not an uncommon event for groups that travel internationally from our school district.

Spring Trip Meeting-Mandatory for students and Parents and Chaperones we have alot to do at this meeting.
6:30 Bandroom-Agenda
- Review Documents that are turned in-Please bring passports or birth certificates for proof of citizenship
- Complete the Citizenship/Immigration Document-I am including a copy of this document with this email. I will also have copies of these documents available. Filling them out in advanced will assist in processing. This document has to be notorized to allow me to carry your child across the border...this is very, very important.
- Bus Sign Up-There is a Band Bus and a Band/Chorus Bus. The Band Bus has to fill up first the Chorus/Band Bus is Overflow.

- Do's and Don'ts
- Answer Questions-This is our final trip meeting, we will have trip rehearsals coming up.
- Final Payments are past due...please, please, make your final payment so we can pay off the trip.
- Chaperone Meeting at 7:30 in the Chorus Room
Thursday May 19 Trip Rehearsal 3-4 afterward go home and study for 1/3 Final Exams Non EOC
Wednesday May 25-EOC Graduation Rehearsal Concert/Symphonic Bands 11:45-12:45 Bring a snack for a quick lunch between exams and rehearsal. Trip Rehearal following graduation rehearsal.

Does my deposit need to be paid before I can go on the trip?
- Yes, your final deposit of $200 should be made no later than January 18th.
Does my Fair Share account have to be paid in full before I go on the trip?
- Yes, your Fair Share account must be paid in full before you can participate in the trip. This means your account must presently be current.
Can I make my payments via PayPal?
- Yes, you can make payments via PayPal. simply make a note in the comment field that is what the money is intended for?
